Aiming our cameras upward can also open our eyes to the world around us a bit more. I just returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. & fell in love with all the amazing architecture there. I was busy taking plain old straightforward pictures, when I looked above me & was amazed at what I saw. The view above me was much better. So I started shooting away, taking more angled photos of this building at Arlington Cemetery than any other place we visited that trip. Buildings & even the signs attached to them make great subjects for these kind of photos. So drive around your town or vacation spot & angle your camera up - you'll love the view!
I also loved the trims in this kit - you all know that I love my trims!
I loved this picture that I took of my Dad with Patrick and Michael. They are watching those little snake fireworks in my aunt's backyard. My Dad lived with my Mom, my siter, and I for so long - it's so nice to see him enjoying "Time with his Boys!"
I wanted to use a piece of the background patterned paper to punch out the daisies, so I cut out what was left behind the orange scalloped paper - I love using EACH and EVERY piece! I also used the sequins with some Kaiser Pearls to create the center of the daisies. The October Afternoon Wildcard of the little girl in the garden was perfect for this LO!
Thanks for looking! I KNOW you all will love working with this kit as much as I did!
I used the amazing August Lily Bee kit for this layout and I will share it with you tomorrow for my reveal! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I took my favorite pieces of the kit, that i had left over and made this frame to put in my home. I just started glueing and pasting and didn't stop till I liked the result:) You can see the damask that came in the kit. I chose to put it on the music paper because it has a subtle, yet notable effect! LOVE it!
"Swing Song" Layout
I loved these pictures I took of my niece on the 4th of July. The sheet music paper that was included in my kit with the "swing song" was a perfect background layer for these pictures.
"1st Haircut" Layout
My three year old daughter finally just had her first haircut. Yes, she didn't have much hair until she was 2! The colors in the photos were a bit distracting, so I converted the pictures to black and white. I saved the clippings of hair that were cut. Instead of taping them into her baby book, I wanted to incorporate them into a layout without having them fall out. I used one of the punch outs as a background and machine sewed a plastic pouch to enclose the hair.
Watch for a technique challenge on how to make this cute pouch, that Elizabeth made, later on this month
Great work Elizabeth!!
