Anna's August Photo Challenge

As scrapbookers, we are first and foremost photographers. The pictures we take determine the subject & style of our layouts. Any one of us can take straightforward photos, seeing the world head-on & leaving little to the imagination. So I want you to try something different - angles. Get out your camera & photograph the world below & above you. You'll be amazed at what you see.

This is my nephew Landon. He loves to be photographed & I thought it would be much more fun to shoot some photos of him from my point of view (always looking down at him). This is always his view of me too (looking up), but it's the angle that makes the photo much more interesting. Children make great subjects for these kind of photos, so grab your kids, tower above them, & take some fun photos.

Aiming our cameras upward can also open our eyes to the world around us a bit more. I just returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. & fell in love with all the amazing architecture there. I was busy taking plain old straightforward pictures, when I looked above me & was amazed at what I saw. The view above me was much better. So I started shooting away, taking more angled photos of this building at Arlington Cemetery than any other place we visited that trip. Buildings & even the signs attached to them make great subjects for these kind of photos. So drive around your town or vacation spot & angle your camera up - you'll love the view!
